전각 (殿閣)의 벽, 기둥, 천장 같은 데에 여러 가지 그림과 무늬를 그린 채색. 이것은 일종의 장엄일 뿐만 아니라 실질적으로는 목재의 보존과 부패방지 효과도 있다. 이때 단 (丹)은 적색 (赤色)을, 청 (靑)은 청색을 뜻함
