2005년 4월에 공포되어 동년 7월에 전통적인 25 교구본사 (敎區本寺)에 이어 군종특별교구 (軍宗特別敎區)로 출범함

The Special Military Religious District or Diocese of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism: The law of establishment was proclaimed in April 2005, and the organization was inaugurated in July of the same year in addition to the existing twenty-five regional districts or dioceses.
