자재천 (自在天)이라고도 말함. 이 천신 (天神)은 세 눈과 여덟 개의 팔을 가졌으며 큰 위덕을 가진 천신 (天神)의 이름으로, 외도 (外道)들은 이 신을 우주의 본체 또는 창조신일 뿐만 아니라, 이 신이 기뻐하면 중생이 편안하고, 성내면 중생이 괴로움을 당한다고 생각함

The Mahesvara Heaven, or a Great Self-existent Deity in the Heaven of Enjoyment of Emanations: The great diety who has three eyes and eight arms with great power. Originally it was a deity of Brahmanism, Siva, an impersonal supreme being and the primal source and ultimate goal of all beings, with which Atman, when enlightened, knows itself to be identical. The followers of the Outside way believe that people feel at ease when this deity is joyful, and feel bad when this deity is in a bad mood or angry.
