상적광토 ( 常寂光土)의 준말. 천태종에서 세운 교의 (敎義)로 상 (常)은 법신 (法身), 적( 寂)은 해탈, 광 (光)은 반야(般若)를 뜻함

The land of eternally tranquil light: The doctrine of the Tientai Sect, and it is abbreviation of Sangjeokgwangto, the land of eternally tranquil light of the Dharma-body. The first syllable sang stands for the Dharma-body, the second syllable jeok stands for emancipation, and the third syllable gwang stands for prajna or wisdom.
