무일물

일물 (一物)은 어떤 존재. 무일물은 아무것도 없다는 뜻으로 육조 (六祖) 혜능 (慧能)이 한 말. 생사의 모양도, 미오 (迷悟)의 모양도, 범부와 성인의 모양도 없어 일체의 모양이 없는 우리들의 본성을 말함
Not a thing: There is not a thing that could be called a thing in the whole universe. Hence there is nothing to cling to. It is a term uttered by Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch, to point out the absence of substance in all things. That is our original face and nature without form and delusion. Above all, everything is the manifestation of the mind arising from conditions.
