이들의 근원인 형체가 없는 도 (道)와 대칭되는 우주에 존재하는 모든 것. 이들을 실체로 알고 집착할 때 중생의 나락으로 떨어지며, 이들의 실체인 공성 (空性)을 깨닫는 것이 깨침. 숫자 만 (萬)은 세상의 수없이 많은 온갖 형태의 현상을 가리킴

All things under the sun: It literally means "ten thousand objects." This expression refers to all things in the universe that have existence or being in contrast to their origin the Dao, which is without substance and name. Realization of emptiness of these myriad creatures and non-attachment is enlightenment. The figure "ten thousand" signifies the countless variety of creatures and things in the world.
