오욕
[五慾, Oyok]

다섯 가지 감각기관 (안이비설신)과 그 대상과의 접촉에서 일어나는 욕망, 또는 다섯 가지 세속적 욕망, 곧 재욕 (財欲), 색욕( 色慾), 명예욕, 수면 (睡眠), 식욕 (食慾). ‘보살은 재물이 있어도 항상 무상함을 알아 진실로 탐착하는 일이 없습니다. 또 보살은 아름다운 여자가 있어도 정적 (靜寂)에 머물러 오욕 (五慾)의 진흙탕에서 멀리 합니다.’) --유마경--
The five desires or avarice: The five sensory desires that arise from the contact of the five sense organs with each of their five corresponding sense objects. The five desires also mean the human desires for material wealth, sexual desires, the desires for fame, sleep, and food.
