성문보리 (聲聞菩提), 연각보리 (緣覺菩提), 제불보리 (諸佛菩提)를 말함. 보리 (菩提)는 도 (道) 또는 정등각 (正等覺)이라 번역하며, 세 가지 도과 (道果), 곧 지혜를 말함

Three enlightenments or the Ways: Enlightenment of the Sound-hearers, or disciples; enlightenment of Self-enlightened one, or the Solitary-vehicle; and the enlightenment of all Buddhas.
