절에서 대중을 통솔하여 규칙을 유지하는 세 직책. 그런가 하면 우리나라에서는 주지 (住持), 수승 (首僧), 서기 (書記)를 말하기도 함
1) 상좌 (上座) (비구 중에서 덕이 있는 스님)
2) 사주 (寺主) (전각 (殿閣)과 불탑 (佛塔)을 세우고 관리하는 사무를 맡은 스님)
3) 도유나 (都維那) (절의 규칙에 따라 일상생활의 모든 일을 지도하는 스님)

Three duties, posts, or offices at the temple for maintaining the rules as well as controling the monks.
1) The post of an elder held by a venerable priest at the temple.
2) The post of an abbot who directs the temple affairs.
3) The post of superintendent who is responsible for all household works at the monastery. But in Korea, the three duties also mean the abbot, the chief monk, and the clerk at the monastery.
