온 법계 (法界)가 미세한 티끌 속에 걸림없이 들어가니, 이것을 가리켜 원융무애라 한다. 법계가 미세한 티끌 속에 들어간다 함은, 하나의 미세한 티끌이 온 우주를 머금고 있음이니, 이를 가리켜 하나의 미세한 티끌에 온 법계를 보며 걸림이 없다는 것. 그리고 이것은 또 양 (量)은 곧 비양 (非量)이며, 수미산에서 티끌을 보고, 티끌에서 수미산을 보는 이치. 인드라망이라는 것도 사실 이 진리를 상징화한 것. 화엄의 법계연기 (華嚴法界 緣起) 참조

Complete unobstructed interpenetration of things: The unified and seamless whole without any hindrance, or complete, harmonious, non-obstructive totality. The entire universe can be contained in a tiny particle without any discomposure. In other words, we may see a tiny particle in Sumeru, and Sumeru in a tiny particle. So is everything else. Everything is a part of the whole universe, and the whole universe, a part of a tiny particle.
