본무자성 (本無自性)의 자리는 집착하고자 해도 집착할 것이 없고, 집착을 파 (破)할래야 파 (破)할 것이 없는 고로 영원불멸 (永遠不滅)이다. 다시 말해 태어남과 죽음이 없으니 불생불멸이며 영원불명이라는 것
