사종연기 (四種緣起)의 하나. 진여연기 (眞如緣起)라고도 말함. 진여인 우주의 실체는 시작도 없고 끝도 없으며, 증함도 없고 감함도 없으나, 염정 (染淨)의 인연에 따라 온갖 법을 일으키는 것을 말함. 다시 말해 염정 (染淨), 곧 더러움과 맑음과 같은 온갖 현상이 여래장에서 연기 (緣起)했다고 설하는 것을 여래장연기라 말함
