진여 (眞如) 자체의 내용을 표현하는 말. 진여의 체성 (體性) (본질)은 온갖 사상을 초월하여 절대적인 것이므로, 일체의 언설과 사려를 부정한다는 뜻으로 공 (空)이라 함. 역설적인 표현이기는 하지만, 쉽게 이야기 해 공이기 때문에 진실하며, 진실하기 때문에 공인 것이다. 여실불공 (如實不空) 참조
