가 (假)는 진실 또는 실체와 대응되는 것으로, 특히 대승불교에서는 만유 (萬有)를 자성 (自性)이 없는 하나의 가상 (假相)으로 본다. 다시 말해 이들은 원인과 조건에 의하여 생성 소멸하는 것으로, 언젠가는 사라질 실체가 없고 서로 다른 것에 의지하여 잠시 존재하므로 가 (假)라 말함. 연기 (緣起) 참조

Prajuapti: Unreal, false, illusory, deceptive, insubstantial, provisional, or temporality in contrast with the true reality, or true-suchness: In Buddhist terminology, it means that everything is merely phenomenal, and consists of derived elements; nothing therefore has real existence. The Mahayana Buddhism especially sees everything in the whole universe as only phenomenal, superficial, impermanent, a product dependent on causes and conditions without any self-entity, a thing that will vanish when the causes and conditions cease to be.
