속박이나 장애가 없이 자유로우며, 내외의 모든 경계와 인과를 떠나 불변의 영원한 변화 속에 스스로 고요히 상주 (常住)하는 진여 (眞如)를 일컬음. 따라서 부처님을 자재인 (自在人)이라고도 말함

Self-manifestation: Self-possessed and dispassionate, or independent self existence without hindrance. When perfect quiescence is achieved, all the signs of action, within and without, will cease, and every trace and mark of things and conditions will vanish, which is another way of expressing the Buddha and the ever-changing changeless true-suchness.
