대한조계종 제15교구본사로, 경상남도 양산군 영취산 (靈鷲山)에 있는 불보사찰 (佛寶寺刹). 신라 선덕왕 (善德王) 15년 (646)에 자장율사 (慈藏律師)가 창건. 부처님의 진신사리 (眞身舍利)가 모셔져 있다

Tongdosa Temple: The 15th District Main Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, and the first of the Tri-Gem Temples (the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha) in Korea. It is established by Preceptor Jajang in 646 C.E. during the reign of King Seondeok of the Silla Dynasty. The temple enshrines the genuine sarira of Sakyamuni Buddha.
